Scott Goodwin
President and CEO
Scott Goodwin brings 26 years of telecom experience to the Vinculum's management
team, including the last ten in the carrier international market. Under his leadership,
Vinculum has quickly become one of the fastest-growing international VoIP carriers
in the world, thanks to his sales management, recruiting, strategic planning and
network optimization expertise.
Prior to founding Vinculum in 2001, Goodwin spent 8 years as Senior Vice President
with WorldxChange Communications and, at various times, managed their carrier, prepaid
card and operator services divisions. He built the carrier group into a $250 million
division as well as growing the prepaid card division by $180 million in annual
sales in only two years. It was while managing the international carrier group with
employees in sixteen countries that Goodwin developed a very extensive international
contact list of both customers and suppliers that he continues to foster. Goodwin
was Assistant Vice President of Sales and Marketing for One Call Communications
from 1988 to 1993 and was instrumental in significant growth of their carrier and
operator services products. From 1983 to 1988, Goodwin held sales positions with
Allnet Communications, Virtual Network Services, and Consolidated Network Services
respectively.
A graduate of Ball State University with a BS in Accounting, Goodwin resides in
La Jolla, California with Angela, his wife of 22 years and his two daughters, Spenser
and Halle.
Bryon Borgardt
Chief Financial Officer
Bryon Borgardt joined Vinculum in February 2007. Over the past 25 years, he has
held the senior financial position in various manufacturing and distribution companies,
both domestic and international. Industries include water purification, irrigation,
building products, international contracting, semiconductor, and food distribution.
While Borgardt's primary roles have been as the Chief Financial Officer, he has
managed Internal Audit, HR, IT, Legal, Logistics, Contracts Administration, Strategic
Planning, and served as the Chief Operating Officer for subsidiary operations. Borgardt
has experience with public, private equity-backed, and entrepreneurial operations.
He also has led the sale or purchase of over 20 companies, including the integration
of acquisitions.
Borgardt has an MBA and has attended numerous financial and executive seminars,
both domestic and international.
Kristan Thomas
Chief Operations Officer
Kristan Thomas has been responsible for planning and delivering Voice over IP (VoIP)
projects involving network technologies from partners such as Cisco, Alcatel, Avaya
and other third party solution providers since 1996. Additionally, she has implementation
and integration experience with complementary next generation solutions and applications
such as Call Centers, Video over IP, and Wireless LAN technologies. She has held
several high profile positions within major companies. Prior to joining Vinculum
Communications, Inc., Thomas worked with NexAira Inc. a leader in distribution and
support of 3G mobile broadband solutions. As VP, Products and Services, she managed
all engineering services, integration support and product integrity for the modules,
broadband cards and routers portfolio. At Cognigen, Business Systems Thomas was
instrumental in developing and implementing a converged next generation data and
VoIP solution specifically catered toward the Quick Service Retail market. Further,
she has held various positions at SAIC, working on next generation solutions, primarily
focused on the Enterprise and Government vertical markets.
Thomas has a BS in Information Systems and has taken additional executive management
courses to enrich her skill set.
Peter Llewellyn
Chief Technology Officer
Peter Llewellyn joined the Vinculum family on July 10th, 2006. He brings extensive
experience of VoIP, network and telecom knowledge from the 16 plus years experience
in the telecommunications industry. Most recently, Llewellyn was with Acceris Communications,
where he was responsible for the Operations and Management of 11 switches (Class
4) located throughout the US . As Principal Engineer and Project Manager, he led
Acceris through a successful launch of their retail VoIP product line. He was with
Acceris (previously WorldxChange) for 6 years in the US and 3 years in the Australian
subsidiary. Prior to that, Llewellyn worked for Telstra Australia at the Perth Inmarsat
Satellite Ground Station and various other facilities (switching and transmission).
Llewellyn obtained an Associate Diploma in Electrical Engineering (major in Communications)
at North Sydney in 1990.
Robert Koehler
President of Vincomm
Robert Koehler joined Vinculum in 2001 and has contributed significantly to making
the company a successful telecommunications company. Koehler manages all carrier
relations which involve dealing with approximately 200 customers and vendors around
the world.
After graduating in 1993 from Texas Christian University, Koehler started his career
with the largest worldwide international security provider (ADT). He quickly became
a top sales consultant. Koehler helped grow strategic alliances with many national
retailers and several of the largest real estate companies in the U.S. Promoted
to a sales management position, Koehler increased the department's revenue by 20%
and recruited, hired, trained, and motivated a productive sales force of 25-30 representatives.
Louis Destree
Vice President Carrier Network Operations
Louis Destree brings fifteen years of applied technical experience to Vinculum Communications.
His career has focused on network engineering and systems administration for a variety
of telecommunications, internet service providers, educational, and corporate entities.
Recently, Destree has focused on international Voice over IP technologies. He has
acted as Senior Network Engineer for Vinculum Communications since 2002. Previously,
he served as Manager of Technical Services for Advance Global Communications and
Senior Network Engineer for IP operations. Prior to his involvement in VoIP, Destree
was Senior Systems Engineer for COLO.COM, an international provider of co-location
facilities. Other recent career highlights include responsibility for the core network
of a 250,000 subscriber national ISP at FlashNet Communications and the technical
start-up of two regional ISP's at PRIA Global Access and Pyramid.Net.
Destree majored in electrical engineering at the University of Nevada Reno.
Jim Comeaux
President Retail Sales and Service
Jim Comeaux possesses more than 20 years of experience in IT-Telecommunications,
Internet sales, financial services, marketing, business development, and network
design and deployment. Prior to joining Vinculum Communications, he was the co–founder
of VIVID IP. In addition, Comeaux worked as the CEO, CTO and Executive Vice President
of Strategy for VoloNet Technologies, Inc. (dba RedWire), one of Southern California's
premier ISP/WISP/VoIP service providers for Small-Medium sized Businesses.
While at RedWire, Comeaux identified and negotiated all Rooftop/Cell Site Agreements,
and engineered and built out broadband services to 500+ commercial office buildings
and over 3,000 business customers throughout Southern California. Redwire's footprint
also included over 90 wireless broadband cell sites and 75 microwave backhaul links.
As co–founder of RedWire, Comeaux guided the Company's successful placement of more
than $3.0 million in capital from institutional and private investors, and was principal
to RedWire's October 2006 sale to Airband Communications, the largest fixed wireless
provider for businesses in the U.S.
Before co-founding RedWire, Comeaux worked as a Regional Data Sales Specialist with
Qwest Communications focused primarily on web hosting, colocation, and Internet
access for the enterprise market. In addition, his experience includes development
of the Strategic Wireless Applications Team ("SWAT") for BearCom, Motorola's largest
dealer in the Land Mobile sector, as well as one of the largest Nextel providers
in the U.S., focused on the Oil and Gas industry. Comeaux began his dedicated telecommunications
experience at Motorola in its Wireless Infrastructure Group.
Comeaux received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the
University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Aaron Carter
Vice President Retail Sales
Aaron Carter joined Vinculum Communications, Inc., as Vice President of Retail Sales
in January 2007. Carter is responsible for building, managing and leading a team
of sales professionals for all North American retail products and services. He most
recently held the position of Senior Sales Executive for a privately held telecommunications
company marketing and selling VoIP and PBX telephone systems within the Southern
California region.
Carter graduated from the University of Nevada with a B.A. in Journalism and a minor
in Business Administration. He currently resides in San Diego, California with his
wife Rachel.
Desiree Kates
Director of Human Resources
